October 15, 2004 - Wind**Sea and BA's Duped by South Shallow-Enders
1. Wind**Sea early - tide was almost low enough - at about 6:30 am, but filled-in way too fast by 7:15 am or so -
Clean and very straight south swell, too south for Kob's, not big enough for The Shoe.
I thought Moon Taylor Reef might be good, and almost paddled-out there in the dark - luckily I didn't, and I stayed at Twang.
2. I've just gotta start looking at the surf mags again - or at least remembering what they used to show!
I got an email yesterday, complete with photo attachments -
The email went something like this:
"BA - you're such an *$***##!#$$$!"
"Just because we take-off in front of you and a couple of your friends, you don't have to encourage violence and surf-rage in the line-up!"
"Here is a photo sequence of 'one of us' merely hacking 'one of yours' [your buddy Spicoli, err Comstock, or whatever his name is]"
"All my friend did was: hack Spicoli and even though my friend saw him and kept going, Spicoli did not have to assault and batter him! "
"We're asking you nicely, one more time, BA, you and buddies have got to quit picking on us!"
"You don't really want us to resort to calling my daddy do you - remember, he's the big shot attorney from the Fly By Night Law Firm!"
signed:
"Your South End Friends"
Well, I called Spicoli to tell him to tone down, at least for a couple of days, his bullying of the South End Kooks, and he started laughing at me:
"BA - you must be getting senile in your old age!
That photo sequence is of Dora at Malibu in the sixties - Ron Stoner photos - the photos were rotated - you old kook, err, coot!
Those South End Kooks are just dickin' with you, 'cause you pick on them!"
My response:
That does it - what Dora did to the Malibu kooks in the sixties, I'm gonna do to the LJ kooks in the oh-fours!
[ if I can remember just what he did]
