Again - [and again] I'm so happy that so many of you rely on"Winds aren't all that pretty this morning as all coastal regions have and continue to experience a stronger than normal onshore flow.I'm sure that UNIX Doug, and his buddies from the Hemet Surf Team were really disappointed with today's conditions!
NCal's winds are subsiding from the north but elsewhere SE to east winds are blowing to 15 mph with some gusts in SoCal to 20. Strong southerlies are likely off and on over the next 24-48 hours before a westerly onshore flow kicks in during the second half of the week.
With more storms bearing down on the coast, winds are not expected to return to near normal conditions until possibly the beginning of next week.
With rain falling up and down the coast, there is a serious threat of bacteria in the surf-zone from runoff. As a reminder, there is a risk of increased bacteria levels through a period of at least 72-hours following the end of any measurable rain event.
Water contact should be avoided during this period, especially within 100 yards of drainpipes, creek outlets, river mouths, etc."
