I hung around Chicago one more day, just to ensure that I could make my baseball dreams come true, and I wanted to see if the waves were as good on The Lake as I had heard.

Of course, I had to make the comparison between the baseball scene in Chicago and the surfing scene in La Jolla.

1. Just like a WindanSea Menehune Contest, there's a sign-up booth.

2. The groms get worked.

3. There's always "the coach."

4. The coach makes 'em practice.

5. The practice pays off.

6. Three years difference in age keeps the groups apart - Reef Girls Vs Sluggos

7. The parents are kept in cages - away from the surfing groms.

8. Easy beach access.

9. The Lake Michigan Shack looked really familiar.

10. The waves were pretty mushy, they broke right over the Fire Coral Reef.

11. Even their sunsets sucked, just like in The Arena.
