Welcome to Bill Andrews' GIGANTIC Electronic Fish Wrapper
Photos of another lousy sunset - and a great photo of Tommy Wolfe is a dork Reef
- 09 Feb 2005 -
Even I can't make this stuff up, plus I wouldn't know how to do it, if I could make it up.
A couple of days ago, I uploaded about 600 photos of my trip to Chicago - so I figgered I better check out how much space I got left on the server or whatever that thing is that holds all my BS.
I ain't no genius Computer Eddy, so I stumbled around for a while, and I found something about disk space available - not mucho -
But - while I was dicking around trying to find unused disk space, I found the statistics for my adaywithba.com site:

I hadn't seen these stats before, so imagine my shock and awe - almost 7000 hits per day, whatever that means.
There ain't nothing on my site - it's just a bunch of junk to which I've been adding more junk - less than 10 minutes per day of updates.
I take a few photos at sunrise, a few more at sunset, scan in a few more photos, then throw 'em on the the web, via a server - whatever and wherever that is.
But- now, my curiosity starts to get tickled, so I started diggin' around the other two sites were I got more junk squirreled away:
From my FIRST [and still running] Attempt at web stuff: webshots:
"Your 2,802 photos have been viewed 218,275 times and downloaded 968 times."
Then I checked out my NEXT [I haven't updated this since June 2004] Attempt at web stuff: Angelfire:
"PAGE VIEWS - Your site had 69 page views yesterday.
Want more detailed traffic statistics? Upgrade to Angelfire Elements!"
I got no idea what these stats mean, or if the numbers are significant for just a stupid bunch of uploaded photos and for the BS that I invent and publish.
So One, I guess I should be a bit pissed-off about the number of downloads from webshots.
Maybe I better do some sort of encryption - on second thought - that's way too much work.
I just hope whoever is grabbing the photos is giving the subject and photographer credit.
So Two, I may as well take advantage of all the "hits" whatever a hit is.
So Three, if I got a bunch of losers, looking at a bunch of out of focus, arcane photos of me, or photos I've taken, then I figger I gotta serious about my retirement income and focus on some $$ makers, such as:
- A Day With BA.com Apparel - T-shirts, sweat shirts, hats, etc. I figger I can sell these quality garments, etc., at swap meets and county fairs. Naturally, I would have the garments made in 3rd world, child labor exploiting countries - and of course, I would change the labels to read:
"Proudly, Union Made, In The USA." My name and photo would be on the front and back of every garment, and on all of the hat panels
- A Day With BA.com Surfboards - Custom, molded, sponge, long, short, belly, knee.
These high quality boards would be sold ONLY at the finest surf shops and specialty stores, such as Costco, K-Mart, Big Lots, etc.
- Day With BA.com Surf Accessories - I'll have non-breakable leashes, 5' to 20' in length, sun screen, beach towels, coolers, cup holders, sunglasses, sunglass leashes, Reef type sandals, etc. ANYTHING that can be emblazoned with my mug shot - I'm makin' it!
- A Day With BA.com Surf Schools - In the water surf instruction - focusing at conquering Wind**Sea, B*g R**k, B**ck's, N*w Br**k, Hos****ls, Hor**S**e, and Tommy Wolfe is a dork Reef.
The Surf Divas have thousands of students per year, at about $65/hour.
Lemme see ... $65 per hour x 10 students per session = at least $1,000,000,000.00 per hour. Even I could live on that income.
- A Day With BA.com Surf Tours - Guided tours to exotic locations, such as the TJ Sloughs, SeaWeed Gulch, Sewer Line, Toilet Bowls, Vomit Reef, and many more.
- A Day With BA.com Hanging Around Parking Lots Tours - What could be more fun than hanging around a bunch of dirty beach front parking lots, meeting the locals, playing some old games, and inventing new games?
I gotta get to work on this stuff!
