Here's a very accurate surf report [not from me, of course] from The Wizard of all things Wave Related:
"Today's Surf
------------
With the strong winds that we had yesterday afternoon and part way through
the night, the nearshore buoys this morning are up 220% to 7.42' of wind
chop/wind swell from the W and WSW at 7-9s.
The offshore buoys are up 126%
to 11.30' from the WNW (San Clemente Basin Buoy) to the NNW (San Nicholas
Island, Harvest Buoy).
This size is a bit bigger than predicted for 4:00AM
this morning by the San Clemente Basin buoy (6.6' significant wave height
predicted, 10.2' actual).
Winds at 3AM are now light (1-3 kn) from the ESE with gusts of 3 kn (ESE)
to 10 kn (WSE, Palomar Airport). Avg. water temp decreased by a big 1.5
degrees to 59.3 degrees (I think this is the coldest we've had this
winter).
Air temps decreased 2 degrees to 51 to 53 deg.
Unfortunately with the short period of these wind-genrated waves, the surf
this AM, although energenic, is likely to be far from ideal."
----------
Should I surf "around the corner" of course - but which way is around the corner?
I'll go where nobody goes in the spring - right before - in my opinion - the dreaded Day Light Savings Time [4 more days of heaven]
My arms are ready to fall off, my head got almost ripped off my neck. The Wiz was correcto, as always, and the waves were very "energenic!"
WHEW!!
