In my opinion there aren't a lot of true classic surf characters left - Pat's one of them!

Bill Decker called me last night about doing a little fishing with him today at Pelican Point, a secret spot at the entrance to Mission Bay.

I followed Decker, past his office, and I watched the master [fish] baiter land a giant snapper.

I wanted to catch one, too, so I traded my Digital Rebel for The Big Stick, and, because I was wearing a Caster T-Shirt, I launched a couple of great casts, but no bites.

Decker took a photo of the one that got away, plus a few that didn't [get away].

I snapped-off a few photos of the great surf at the entrance to the bay - I would suggest to all that the Mission Bay Harbor entrance is THE place to go, for surfing and fishing excitement!
