Today was beat down paddle out death at The Shores - I almost gave up after a 45 minute pounding at the lifeguard tower

- BUT -

I watched this very petite premed student - surfette execute a dry hair paddle out - right in front of the bathhouse!

I sucked in my gut - called on my last bit of testosterone - I could not be denied - I did make it out finally [at The Boat Launch]

"Hey BA, where are the water photos proving you actually did make it out?"

Well, another day, another dollar earned as the Beach Master, err, Beach Marshall, for today's LJ Shores Surfing Association's Menehune Contest.

Oops, I forgot, I didn't pick up my paycheck - I think I was fired before noon - I guess a surf mom complained to the big shots that I called her darling son a jackass, simply because he continued to surf in the middle of the contest area - and - making matters worse - I didn't even unleash an F-Bomb, which I usually reserve for the WindanSea Surf Club's Menehune Contest.

Oh well, the pay wasn't actually that good [volunteer labor] and they ran out of t-shirts my size.

Maybe, as suggested by Harold Reid of the WSC, if I changed my diet, perhaps my angst could be mitigated by finding my happy place on the beach?
